UPON THE APPLICATION dated the 22nd May, 1997 made under Section 12 (1) (A) of the Legal Profession Act coming on for hearing before the Disciplinary Committee and the matter having been heard on the 5th December, 1998
AND UPON the Panel taking note that the Attorney-at-Law Mr. Leeland Playfair was disbarred on the 24th day of October, 1997 and this application was made at a date prior to his being so disbarred
AND UPON the Complainant, Mr. Godfrey Blake having appeared and given evidence on oath
AND UPON the Disbarred Attorney-at-Law Leeland Playfair not appearing on the 5th December, 1998 and not giving evidence on oath
AND UPON Proof of Service on Lee land Playfair and admission thereof on the 1Oth November 1998 and upon reading Affidavit of Service of Mervalyn Walker
AND UPON DUE CONSIDERATION of the evidence of Mr. Godfrey Blake.
THE COMMITTEE FOUND that the disbarred Attorney-at-Law, Mr. Leeland Playfair is guilty of Professional Misconduct
PURSUANT TO THE FOREGOING FINDING, THE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE UNANIMOUSLY ORDERED:-
That Mr. Leeland Playfair Disbarred Attorney-at-Law pay to the complainant by way of restitution the sum of $270,000.00 with interest at 15% per annum
This Order is made under section 12 (4) of the Legal Profession Act.
